EU–VIC Economic Forum

On 26 May, La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry took part in the EU–VIC Economic Forum in Melbourne, alongside the FACCI – French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia inc., together with Global Victoria, Invest Victoria, government representatives and industry leaders, for a discussion on energy transition and Europe–Australia collaboration.

The programme opened with a keynote by Kate Houghton, followed by two panels with senior representatives from across Europe and Australia’s energy sector, focusing on the geopolitical and practical challenges of the energy transition.

Spain was represented across both panels:

– Guillermo García-Perrote attended on behalf of the Board of La Camara, contributing to Panel 1 on geopolitical realignment and energy priorities.

– Ricardo Da Silva Álvarez, Executive General Manager Business Development at Iberdrola Australia, joined Panel 2 on policy, networks and markets shaping the energy transition.
