Breakfast Seminar on the Environment Protection Amendment Act 2018
La Camara would like to invite its members and friends to a Breakfast Seminar on the Environment Protection Amendment Act 2018, to be held in Melbourne.
The Victorian Government is implementing a new approach to environmental protection that will overhaul Victoria’s current legal regime. The new laws will place new duties to protect the environment on all Victorians and introduce significantly increased penalties of more than $3 million for companies and up to five years imprisonment for individuals.
Business will need to review their environmental management systems and portfolio of properties to ensure that they (and their directors and executive management team) are ready for the new laws which are expected to commence on 1 July 2020.
In this seminar Dr Meredith Gibbs will explain the new laws and provide practical steps that you can take to get ready.
Meredith Gibbs is a Special Counsel focusing on environmental, water and climate change law.
