La Camara, The Spanish-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was honoured to attend the IX Malaspina Awards Ceremony in Canberra as an invited guest, celebrating the strong scientific and cultural ties between Spain and Australia.
Organised by the Embassy of Spain in Australia together with SRAP-IEAP (Spanish Researchers in Australia-Pacific), a network of more than 250 Spanish researchers working across Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific, and sponsored by Navantia Australia, the event highlighted the importance of international collaboration in science, innovation and research.
We congratulate H.E. Esther Monterrubio Villar, Ambassador of Spain to Australia, and Dr Ángel R. López-Sánchez, President of SRAP-IEAP, for the outstanding organisation of this inspiring initiative.
The ceremony featured discussions on climate change, scientific cooperation and the SKA Observatory project, reflecting the value of shared knowledge and global collaboration in advancing science.
We would also like to recognise the contribution of Dr Pep Canadell, Chief Research Scientist at CSIRO, for his continued work strengthening scientific cooperation between Spain, Australia and the international community.
