Zitrón has been appointed by The CYP Design and construction Joint Venture (John Holland Pty Ltd, Lendlease Engineering Pty Ltd and Bouygues Construction Australia Pty Ltd) to design and manufacture the tunnel ventilation axial fans and over-track exhaust axial fans for the Melbourne Metro.

The Zitrón Australia team is very proud to have been awarded this contract and to be part of the world’s leading ventilation company for metro and rail tunnel ventilation systems. The awarding of this contract means that Zitrón has been the preferred supplier of ventilation systems for 45 of the 210 cities in the world that have metro systems in operation. Across the world, thousands of Zitrón fans are currently providing a safe environment for the millions of users of underground metros worldwide.

The primary fans that will be supplied under the contract will be manufactured in Zitrón’s facilities in Perth, Australia. Prototype fan testing will be carried out at Zitrón’s headquarters, in the company’s AMCA-accredited test bench, the largest in the world for axial fan testing.

With Zitrón also having supplied the permanent ventilation fans for Sydney Metro Northwest and Forrestfield Airport Link, the awarding of the Melbourne Metro contract reinforces Zitrón’s industry leadership and strong commitment to the Australian rail sector.
